This and the following drawings in this set were inspired by the US Holocaust Memorial Museum's Crisis in Darfur website that my friend Susan O'Malley told me about. Her husband, Tim Caro-Bruce helped make the site. They own this piece which makes me glad.

The total number tally marks in this drawing equal the number of peacekeeping troops that were supposed to be deployed in Darfur. The brown pen lines are the actual number of troops deployed.
