2009

O Yea, Darfur tallies the estimated 400,000 victims of the genocide there. This 54 foot-long scroll is made of a series of four 4-inch square etched plates that each contain 1000 tally marks. The plates were printed on long strips of gampi paper and attached to form one long piece.

O Yea, Darfur has been exhibited at the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, Kondos Gallery at Sacramento City College, and the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts where it was selected as one of three best in show pieces by Mark Pascale, Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Art Institute of Chicago.
